Lepromin test from 340 leprosy contacts(male 177, female 163) knave been studied by
house-hold and non-house hold contact, sex, age and geographical distribution. The
results obtained were summarized as follows:
1 2.4% of all 340 contacts of leprosy patients were shown lepromin negative which is
considered high-risk population among contacts.
2. In comparison with Mitsuda reaction by sex, 3.7% of female contacts showed
negative while 1.1% of male showed negative.
3. Mitsuda negative cases were shown more in non-household contacts(3.5%) than in
household contacts(0.7%). It is considered that close and frequent contacts give more
high immunity than less contacts.
4. stage, Mitsuda negative crises were shown 3.2% in 21¡40 age group, 3.1% in over
41 age group and 0.9% in under 20 age group. By geographical distribution contacts of
Ho-Nam area had more lepromin negative cases(4.2%) than other areas.
5. In relation shown between early and late lepromin reaction among 37 strong Positive
Mitsuda reaction cases, 17 cases showed weak positive Fernandez reaction.
